Questions

How do I restore my Full Access purchase?

Open WordRise, go to Settings, and tap Restore purchase. WordRise asks Apple to re-check the Apple Account you are signed in with. Full Access is a one-time purchase tied to that Apple Account, so it comes back on a new iPhone or after reinstalling without paying again. Restore is always available, including before you have bought anything.

What do I get for free, and what does Full Access add?

The word of the day is free forever, and it is drawn from the whole 10,000-entry catalog rather than from a smaller pool. The widget, the morning notification and the reading streak are free. Every headword is spoken aloud, free and offline, all 10,000 of them. Your Library starts with a 100-word sample and gains another entry every morning, and any word you have been shown stays yours to return to. Full Access is a single $9.99 payment that opens every remaining entry in the index and enables the recorded audio for all 21,053 example sentences.

Is Full Access a subscription?

No. It is one payment. Nothing renews, nothing lapses, and there is nothing to cancel. WordRise has no subscriptions of any kind.

Why are some words in the Library shown without a definition?

Those entries are in the index but are not part of the free 100-word sample yet. The headword is still printed, and search still finds them, but the definition is held back until Full Access is unlocked. Tapping any one of them opens the Full Access page. The line at the top of the Words tab shows how many are currently open.

How do I get the spoken example sentences?

They are an optional download, kept separate because the recordings are large. After unlocking Full Access, go to Settings, find The recordings, and tap Download example audio. The download is served by Apple and needs a network connection once; after that the audio plays offline. You can remove it again from the same place at any time.

The example audio download failed. What now?

Tap Try again in Settings. The download needs a working network connection and enough free space on the device. It is safe to remove and re-download. WordRise is complete without it: an example with no recording is read aloud by the system voice instead, so no button is ever dead.

Does WordRise need an account?

No. There is no sign-in, no account, no password and no email address to give. Nothing about you is registered anywhere.

Does WordRise work offline?

Yes, entirely. The full 10,000-entry catalog and all 10,000 spoken headwords are inside the app itself, so it works in airplane mode from the first launch. The only two things that need a connection are buying Full Access and the one-time example-audio download, and both talk to Apple rather than to us.

Does my reading data leave my iPhone?

No. Your saved words, your learned words and your reading streak are stored on your device and nowhere else. WordRise has no server, no account system and no cloud sync, and Atlas Peak Media never receives your reading history.

How do I turn the morning notification on or off, or change its time?

Settings has a control for the morning word, including the delivery time. Nothing is scheduled until you turn it on. If notifications were declined at first launch, Settings offers a link straight to the iOS notification settings for WordRise.

How do I reset my progress or delete my data?

Settings has a Reset progress control, which clears your saved words, learned words and streak after a confirmation. Deleting the app removes everything WordRise has stored. Your Full Access purchase is held by Apple, not by the app, so it survives both and can be restored.

Where do the definitions and pronunciations come from?

The catalog is built on WordNet 3.0 and the Carnegie Mellon Pronouncing Dictionary, both used under their own licences, with the full licence text included in the app under Settings, Content sources. 479 entries carry an etymology. The example sentences were written for WordRise.

How do I report a bug or ask a question?

Email support@atlaspeakmedia.com. Please include your iPhone model, your iOS version, the WordRise version from Settings, the word you were looking at if it is relevant, what you expected, and what happened instead.
