Restock

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 17, 2026

This Restock-specific policy supplements the Atlas Peak Media privacy policy and describes the data behavior of the Restock iOS app.

Overview

Restock is a pantry inventory app for iPhone. It is designed to be local-first: the items you track, your storage locations, restock levels, shopping list, expiration dates, and reminders are created by you and stored on your device with Apple SwiftData.

Restock does not require an Atlas Peak Media account. There is no login.

Data Restock Handles

Pantry items: the products you add, their quantities, storage locations, restock thresholds, expiration dates, and notes. These stay on your device.

Shopping list: the items the app surfaces as you drop below a restock level, plus anything you add by hand.

Barcode lookups: when you scan a product, Restock sends only the scanned barcode digits to Open Food Facts (no key required) and to USDA FoodData Central to fetch a name and details. The lookup does not include your pantry, your location, or any account identifier.

Camera: used only to read a barcode. Images are processed on your device and are not stored or uploaded.

Subscription status: Apple StoreKit tells the app whether your Apple ID has an active Premium subscription or the Lifetime Unlock. Atlas Peak Media does not receive your payment card information.

Storage and Sync

Restock stores your items, locations, shopping list, and reminders locally on your device.

iCloud sync is optional and, when enabled, uses your own private iCloud account through Apple CloudKit. Atlas Peak Media has no access to your iCloud data. The only Atlas Peak Media service Restock talks to is the barcode lookup relay described below, which never sees your pantry.

Exporting a CSV or PDF produces a file you choose to share through the iOS share sheet. Exporting does not transmit your pantry to Atlas Peak Media.

Third-Party Services

Apple services: App Store and StoreKit (purchases), SwiftData and CloudKit (local storage and optional private iCloud sync), VisionKit (barcode scanning), and local notifications (expiration reminders).

Open Food Facts: receives the scanned barcode digits to return public product information. Open Food Facts is an open, community database; no account or key is used.

USDA FoodData Central: receives the scanned barcode to return public nutrition and product details. Restock reaches it through a lookup relay operated by Atlas Peak Media, which keeps the USDA key off your phone and uses Apple's App Attest to reject unauthorized clients. The relay receives the barcode and ordinary network metadata, and nothing else.

Restock does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

What Restock Does Not Do

Restock does not sell or share your pantry, shopping list, or any other data.

Restock does not use your data for advertising.

Restock does not upload your pantry to an Atlas Peak Media server. The only outbound requests are the barcode lookups described above.

Restock does not track your location or build a profile of you.

Deleting Data

You can delete individual items, locations, or shopping-list entries inside the app. You can also remove all local Restock data by deleting the app from your device. If you enabled iCloud sync, manage that copy in iOS Settings under your Apple ID.
