Help for purchases, free teaser, FSRS sync, practice exams, PBQs, and app privacy.
Include the app version, device model, iOS version, the certification you were studying, and a short description of the issue.
How do I restore purchases?
Open Bastion, go to Settings, then use Restore Purchases in the unlocks area. Bastion asks Apple StoreKit to refresh the certification unlocks and bundles tied to your Apple ID.
Are there subscriptions?
No. Bastion uses one-time purchases only. Each certification unlock is $14.99 and grants lifetime access for that cert. Bundles unlock multiple certs at a reduced total. There is no auto-renewal and no recurring billing.
What does the free teaser include?
Each certification ships with a free teaser: Domain 1 fundamentals, 75 sample flashcards, 1 full-length practice exam, and 5 PBQ scenarios. The teaser is enough to evaluate the study experience before unlocking the full content.
Does Bastion require an account?
No. Bastion does not require an Atlas Peak Media account. Unlocks are tied to your Apple ID through StoreKit and travel with you across signed-in devices.
How does iCloud sync work?
When CloudKit is available, Bastion can sync FSRS review schedules and progress through your private iCloud database so studying on iPhone and iPad stays in sync. If iCloud is unavailable, Bastion keeps working with local storage.
Does Bastion store my Face ID or Touch ID?
No. Biometric app lock is handled locally by Apple LocalAuthentication. Bastion does not receive or store biometric templates.
How do I reset progress for a certification?
Open Settings, choose the certification, and use Reset Progress. This clears flashcard review schedules, practice exam scores, and PBQ attempt history for that cert. Other certifications are not affected.
How do I delete data?
Reset progress per certification in Settings, or delete the app to remove local Bastion data. If iCloud sync is active, manage iCloud app data through Apple ID and iCloud settings.
Which certifications are shipping?
Security+ (SY0-701) and Network+ (N10-009) at v1.0. A+ Core 1 (220-1201) and A+ Core 2 (220-1202) at v1.0. Additional CompTIA, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Cisco, ISC2, ISACA, GIAC, PMI, and Linux/Red Hat exams ship in v1.1+.
How are practice exams scored?
Practice exams use objective-weighted question selection matching CompTIA exam form structure. Scoring uses a scaled-score model approximating CompTIA passing thresholds. Scores are estimates for self-assessment, not predictions of live exam outcome.
How does the PBQ engine work?
Bastion supports six PBQ scenario types: drag-drop, compliance, sequencing, command-line input, log analysis, and network diagrams. Scoring is on-device with partial credit per scenario rubric. PBQ attempt history is stored locally.
Is Bastion approved for DoD 8140?
Bastion is a study tool, not an approved baseline cert itself. Several of the certifications Bastion helps prepare for are DoD 8140 baselines, including Security+, Network+, A+ Core 2, and others planned in v1.1. Verify your role's baseline requirement against the current DoD 8140 directive.
How do I report a bug?
Email bastion@atlaspeakmedia.com with your device model, iOS version, Bastion version, the certification you were studying, what you expected, what happened, and any screenshots that help explain the issue.
