Talos

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 1, 2026

This Talos-specific policy supplements the Atlas Peak Media privacy policy and describes the data behavior of the Talos iOS app.

Overview

Talos is a commercial real estate analysis app for iPhone and iPad. It is designed to be local-first: your deal files, assumptions, notes, and analysis outputs are created by you and stored on your device unless iCloud sync is available and enabled through Apple services.

Talos does not require an Atlas Peak Media account for v1 launch.

Data Talos Handles

Deal data: property names, addresses, property types, rent roll inputs, operating expenses, purchase price, financing assumptions, valuation outputs, DCF scenarios, tax assumptions, portfolio views, and notes you enter.

Subscription status: Apple StoreKit tells the app whether your Apple ID has an active Talos subscription. Atlas Peak Media does not receive your payment card information.

Map data: Talos does not request your device location in v1. When you ask Talos to map a saved deal, an address you entered may be sent to Apple's geocoding service to obtain map coordinates.

Market data: if you add your own FRED API key and explicitly refresh a public economic series, Talos sends the selected series, date range, and your key directly to FRED. The key is stored in the device Keychain, and Talos does not send deal data to FRED.

Storage and Sync

Talos stores user-authored deal data locally on your device. When iCloud and the signed app configuration are available, Talos uses Apple CloudKit private database sync for user-authored deal data.

Private iCloud data is managed by Apple under your Apple ID. Atlas Peak Media does not browse your private iCloud database.

Local caches and map state are not used for advertising. Remote listing discovery is disabled in the production v1 app.

Third-Party Services

Apple services: App Store, StoreKit, CloudKit, MapKit, and LocalAuthentication support subscriptions, sync, maps, and optional biometric app lock.

FRED: Federal Reserve Economic Data provides optional public market and rate context using a key you supply. Requests occur only when you explicitly refresh data.

Sentry diagnostics: optional diagnostics are off by default. If you consent in Settings, Sentry may process crash/error and performance data so Atlas Peak Media can improve app reliability. Talos excludes deal content, entered financial values, addresses, screenshots, and direct identifiers, and does not send product-interaction analytics.

What Talos Does Not Do

Talos does not sell your deal data.

Talos does not use your deal data for advertising.

Talos does not send deal names, addresses, rent rolls, purchase prices, notes, or user-authored underwriting text as analytics events.

Talos does not provide remote listing discovery in the production v1 app.

Talos does not receive or store Face ID, Touch ID, or biometric templates. Biometric unlock is handled locally by Apple.

Talos does not execute real estate transactions, lending decisions, brokerage activity, appraisals, or investment recommendations.

Deleting Data

You can delete individual deals inside the app. You can also delete all Talos data by deleting the app from your device. If iCloud sync is active, manage iCloud app data through Apple ID and iCloud settings.

You can turn off optional diagnostics in Talos Settings to stop future collection. Turning diagnostics off does not automatically delete events Sentry already received; contact privacy@atlaspeakmedia.com with a privacy request.
